Forget your preconceived idea of a holiday cottage – Seafront Cottage is unique. Situated in the middle of a conservation area, this property built in 2011, was designed by a local architect to fit in with the 18th and 19th century cottages surrounding it and traditionally built by local builders. Built on the site of a former “net” store, the house has shutters on the gable to make it look like a traditional net store.
However, open up the shutters and you have a 2 metre square window, directly on the seafront, looking out over the Moray Firth. This forms the focal point of the house from inside, a “picture” window that lives up to its name. You can try to spot the dolphins from your sofa! When the tide is in the water is directly below you, and when out the shore clears to leave a beach of sand and then sandstone rocks and pools which become home and feeding grounds to all types of seabirds.
Cosy down for the evening and Seafront Cottage has a wood burning stove, underfloor heating, a large wall mounted flat screen television with Freeview, Wi-Fi, a built in docking station for your iPod or iPhone and integrated roof speakers. All surrounded by top quality furniture and fittings.
